Theft within this range becomes a high loss and cost factor for enterprises and administrations. Just to mention in USA in the year 2001, 389,000 laptops were stolen. This means a rise of around 21% since the year 2000. In Germany it is estimated that in the year 2001 the total loss altogether rises to an amount of 9 billion, due to theft in offices and administration buildings.

Consequently a system was necessary, to locate inventory and effectively protect against theft, for this purpose RF-APP was developed.
